Sertraline weaning advice?

Been on it for a few years now, I keep forgetting to take it on days and it’s really messing with me! The brain zaps tho… I’m thinking about weaning off because I’m actually in a better place physically than I was when I started them and also because I keep forgetting them anyway and it’s making me feel horrible

If you want to wean off them get advice from your GP because you can’t just come off them you have to gradually lower the dose. I’m on sertraline

100% only do this under medical guidance and supervision. Not doing so can actually make depressive symptoms worse.

Thankyou ladies - I have a friend who went under GP guidance and they told her to do one every other day and then move onto half every other day and then so on… With the way getting an appointment now in UK is I’m thinking of doing self research and trying it xx

I would urge you to set an appointment anyway, you can ask for an emergency once if you call as soon as your surgery opens, and should be able to get one same day. Alternatively you can try to discuss with a pharmacist, or call 111 to find you an out of hours service. I completely understand your perspective but every situation is different, and it’s important to take advice from someone who has full access to your medical history and can keep a record of you altering your dose. I hope it all works out, good luck ☺️

@💞Nesha💞 it’s been good for me, I started 2 years ago, basically had an emotional breakdown way before even having my baby. My anxiety was really bad, was having a bad time at work, family life and I also had my first miscarriage. I started on a low dose and went up to 100mg after my second miscarriage because I was really down. But I do think it’s good for people who are struggling as it really did help me but I’m at a point now where idk what to do because I can’t just keep upping my dose it’s making me emotionless xx
