If you’re perscribed Ovidrel inject it when your fertility specialist has advised you. It’s usually 24-36h before the IUI. It can absolutely help as it helps doctors time things better. If you’ve released an egg earlier they will just account that into your next cycle.

I was always instructed NOT use my ovidrel shot if I ovulated (got an LH peak) on my own. I only ended up using ovidrel for 2 of my 5 IUIs.

@Boryana i am only approx 14 hrs away from my appointment for IUI.. not sure if I should take it

@Taylor did you conceive with the IUI cycle when you tried ovidrel?

@AVK I would call them and ask but I don’t think you have enough time for the shot to work on its own as it takes 24h to release the egg after the shot. They should’ve given you a date and time when to administer it after they see a good dominant egg on ultrasound. I’ve done 9 IUIs with Ovidrel and have a 3yo , one miscarriage and currently pregnant on the first IUI try. Also my fertility specialists always say not to do ovulation tests as in medicated cycles they aren’t very accurate so they monitor everything through ultrasounds.

My clinic told me when to do the shot. I did it Wednesday morning and had my iui the following morning. I personally wouldn’t do it unless your clinic specifically told you to.

Yeah I called them and they said there is no harm in taking it. I just want to make sure that I dont miss the chance to get pregnant in anyway 🥺
