How to face a narcissist

I’ve organised to meet up with a family member who’s extremely narcissistic I want to face them and tell them how much they’ve put me trough along with discussing very important information that ties us both together. Does anyone have any advice or tips for how I deal with the situation? I plan to be straight to the point and cut the bs but this person can be very explosive and aggressive . Please help me out here girls.

Honestly, you can't speak to a narcissist

Could you maybe ask for someone to be around to be able to feel more comfortable or agree to follow up in writing about anything ?

No point telling a narc what they’ve put you through they don’t care just keep it short and brief and the important information to be factual and need to know and then remove yourself from the situation they will explode either way however you approach

I’m in a very similar situation with my MIL but it hasn’t ended well. My partner call her out on all her BS in a very polite way and she blew up, denied and played the victim. It’s still dragging on 6 weeks later. The ladies above are right… there’s no point in getting through to them unfortunately. I wouldn’t put yourself in a potentially uncomfortable and dangerous situation. It will 100% make you feel worse. If I’m completely honest, the best thing do is go no contact or very little contact, cut right back so they can’t feed off you and upset you anymore!! It’s so hard I know, I feel the complete same about my MIL but going no contact/little contact has annoyed her more than our explaining or words ever could. Sending you lots of love, stay strong❤️

It’s impossible to face a narcissist unfortunately. I’m dealing with a narcissist MIL who plays victim all the time. My husband has tried to make it clear to how much she’s affected our life, continuously crossing boundaries and causing us so much stress. We have tried to face her several times and always get hit with her playing victim, being argumentative and explosive, making a sob story about herself and then her going off in a strop and giving us silent treatment before she then creeps back in and does the same shit. Never takes accountability nor apologises. So I wouldn’t waste your breath. We are now realising it’s better to stay silent and just keep our distance x

@RD wow… do we have the same MIL??😂

@Caitlyn it sure does sound like it 🤣🤣 god they’re hard work aren’t they! So energy draining!

Yep you guys were all right! There’s no talking to a narcissist😓

We didn't want to be right! But unfortunately, I think most of us have had similar situations in the past. Sending strength

Sending you lots of love and strength.! Distance is the best thing. Xx

Thanks so much girls
