Lubion for how long after positive test result (IVF)?

Hi ladies, I had a fresh transfer after recent round of IVF and tested positive this week yay! I’ve been on lubion injections as well as pessaries for luteal support. My question is how long do I continue taking these for? My clinic mentioned up until 8 weeks as it was a fresh transfer (would be 12 if frozen), I just don’t feel like that’s long enough and thought I’d be taking it till 12 or 14 weeks to support the pregnancy! Thank you!

Congrats first of all!🙏 I was on 3 x lubion a day up until 12 or maybe even 13 weeks. I had a history of recurrent losses so I think they just wanted to be on the safe side. I guess there is no harm if you wanted to go until 12 weeks? Other than the cost ! Good luck x x

I only had pessaries but was told until 8-9 weeks. A few days after stopping them I started spotting. I was seen at my early pregnancy unit (all was fine) and they put me back on the pessaries until 16weeks just to be sure. So if you're worried I think they can extend it

With our second transfer (my little boy), we requested to stay on Lubion and cyclogest pessaries until 16/17 weeks. He was also a fresh transfer. We requested this as we were convinced that this is why our first fresh transfer didn’t work. He’s now a healthy 2 year old xx

Thank you lovelies for taking the time to reply, I will ask the nursing team if I can stay on some of the support longer - terrified of something going wrong with this little one now we’ve finally got a positive test!

Congratulations on your positive result!!! I think it’s totally based on personal situation as to how long you need to keep taking it… I was on Lubion and Cyclogest until 16 weeks for my successful fresh transfer, but I’d had a couple of losses from previous cycles which is why it was so long. Other people I know were on Lubion until 8/10/12 weeks. It might be that you start to taper it off from 8 weeks and finish at 10 maybe?! It’s always gonna be nerve wracking coming off the meds. Even tho I was dying to stop injecting myself I still worried, but our bodies do take over!xx
