Going back to work first Child !!

I’m returning to work in a few weeks, and by then, my daughter will be nine months old. I’m feeling really nervous and anxious because I don’t personally know anyone who has balanced working while raising a baby. I’d love some clarity on what to expect—will it be stressful? How do I manage everything? My partner al...

6 months into maternity leave with a 5.5 month baby. What has everyone been doing to go back to work?

I plan to go back in September making it a whole year of maternity leave. I wfh/hybrid depending on my health but most likely remote from home. That being said, I don’t want to plop my baby in front of the tv from 9-5 whilst I work. So what’s everyone doing in terms of support? Childcare is so expensive and will pro...

Full year maternity- funded hours

Has anyone had a whole year off work as maternity leave for second child, whilst first born child still got the full funded hours amount? I’m on about the working parents funded hours. You have to reconfirm every 3 months and SMP covers the income amount they ask, however obvs the last 3 months of maternity would ...

Funded childcare

I’m just a bit confused when it comes to the funded childcare hours form the government. I’m due to have my baby June this year and was planning on returning to work April 2026. Would I be entitled to the funded hours April 2026 or would I have to wait till September 2026?

OB

So I don’t think I want to stick with current OB. She’s not informative at all. She just asks how’s my GD going and then measures my belly and then sends me on my way. I asked her today about preadmission papers for the hospital I’ll deliver at and she says “well I don’t tell my patients when to fill them out, just ...

Maternity leave

Hi Mamas, how far along were you when you took your maternity leave? What’s the process aside from informing your employer? What paperwork do you fill out so you get your money? Is it disability? I’m a FTM and unsure of how to go about it. I’m due at the end of June. Thank you in advance. I live in the United State...

Returning to work, feel depressed

I’m due to return to work in May, I had a call with management to discuss return plans and it bought it into realisation that I’m going to be leaving my baby 3 days a week. I feel so sad about it, genuinely awful. I wish we were in a financial position where I didn’t have to work. I don’t want to leave her, I’m so s...

Annual holiday

Am I correct in thinking you still accrue annual leave whilst on maternity leave? I’m due to return back to work in May and have requested my annual leave total for this year and they have given me my total annual leave allowance from May whereas I assumed I would be owed holiday from January - April also.
