Diabetes I'm children

Are there any mamas out there that have a little one who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes? What led you to get them tested? What were their symptoms? How old were they when diagnosed? How much does it cost? (In canada) We have concerns that our 4 year old is type 1 since it runs in her dad's family and it would explain her hunger, thirst, mood change, tiredness, belly pain, and more. Thank you đź’•

Do you get a yearly check up done? I'm type one when I was diagnosed i had extreme thirst but anything I would eat or drink would feel like it stayed stuck in my throat and I would throw up. I went to 2 different drs and 2 different hospital before I was told I was because they would just diagnosis me with an throat infection. I take my kids to the Dr yearly and get blood work done. an other sign is a ring on the back of our necks that looks like it's kinda dirty it's just darker then out normal skin

My little sister was diagnosed with T1 when she was 4. Look for signs of the 4 T’s, temper, toilet, thirsty and tired, as these are the symptoms of T1D. I’d definitely take her to the doctor asap x
