As long as he can understand you, I won't be worried!! My oldest, who's now 3, was mute until 2 and a half, then spoke in full sentences. If you heard him now, you wouldn't think he had only been speaking for half a year
All Children are very different and up until the age of 2/2n half has long has they understand you it's fine... My 17 month old has only just properly independently walked and she says alsorts and fully understands me and me her.. All children are different xx
Go by your red book not online. Pretty sure the red book says he should be saying something like 10-15 words? But their milestones and expectations are in their red books and are more accurate than any website online. My son says probably around 30 words, definitely not 50
My son is 17 months and says mum in general (not to me) and that’s it. I’m not concerned because none of the other babies at his playgroup up to 2 1/2 can say more than 5-10 words and that’s really pushing it
