Push Presents?

Did your partner get you a push present? Do you want one? What is it? Or do you think they're just silly?

My push present was McDonald’s

I also didn’t push mind you but still (c section)

My partner got our friend to bring fresh oysters to our house 3 days after baby (a pregnancy craving of mine and my favorite food that I couldn't have while pregnant) and then he also got me a kindle as a suprise? I knew about the oysters but the kindle was a total surprise 😭💗

I never knew that was a thing until I got on this app. I, personally think it’s nice but not really necessarily. I’m happy for those who got a push present(s) tho!

Not a push present necessarily but one thing I told my husband I wanted was cleaning service while recovering. We had them come 3 times I think? It was nice to have that extra help. Definitely going to do it again when you have another kiddo

I think they are nice but unnecessary. I don't think they are silly at all, though. I think it's just an appreciation thing of this is the least I can do you just made and pushed out our baby. I kind of think it should be a bigger thing than it is but it's also a materialistic thing that is happening at the same time that you have to pay for all the baby things so it's not something a lot of people can afford. My brothers "grandma" got me a minky blanket and got a matching baby one for us so that was nice

The cost of my homebirths was my push present. 😆

My last was on Easter lol but my second he got me a mug from the gift shop I still have i love sentimental shi

My husband got me a gorgeous mom necklace

My push present was the baby🤣 sometimes I get little mama surprises when I do extra parenting so hubs can go hunting or if things are extra hard, and that's plenty for me

I got my wearable pump and a giant yeti from my husband. It was the only thing I really needed at the time. Plus and endless supply of food from our families

mine was a sushi platter lol 🥰🥰

I told my partner I didn't need a push present, but he got me one anyway: a tablet so I could more flexibly watch things or communicate while breastfeeding.

If it’s in your budget then I love it. If it’s not then no, don’t waste your money trying to be extra. Push presents were a trend on mom social media for awhile. I don’t need a push present but I do think they are nice if they are genuine and not just to follow a trend.

Yes. My dream car

I’ve said to mine when I’m done with babies I want my boobs put back where they started 🤣

I’m getting a surprise one for my daughters upcoming birth. For my son (our first) he didn’t technically get me one, but he is making all the car payments to my dream car after I made the down payment. I’ll take it as I’m a car enthusiast and it was one of my dream cars lol. I also requested for my after birth meal to be a sushi boat, a cup of wine, seafood boil, and he’s gonna make me pancit 🥰 I’d take just that.

My fiance didn't get me one, but my step sister did because she wanted to make me feel better as she knows my fiance can be insensitive and unappreciative (not in the sense of not getting me a gift, but sleeping the entire hospital stay leaving me to care for baby alone after spending 14 hours in labor and choosing to go back to work as soon as we were discharged despite having another week of paid paternity leave)

I feel like this is a rich person thing

I just asked for flowers and a chocolate muffin.

One of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard tbh

I told him I didn't need one but he got me one anyway. I got a ring with our son's birthstone, nothing expensive but sentimental...oh and a subway sandwich because I craved one my whole pregnancy 😅 tbh I was way more excited about the sub lol

My push present is a long spa weekend when we’re done having kids & I’m done breastfeeding

@V oh my God that's actually so adorable!!

I always felt like the baby was my push present. What more could I ask for? Baby safe and well in my arms. Nothing else in the world I needed or wanted.

My fav doc marten bag 🫶🏻

I think a little something is sweet. But as all things since social media everything gets bigger and then lots of people want bigger and better than their "friends" on social media and it gets ridiculous. If you can afford to absolutely go for it. Just don't be ruining your relationship over it off your partner can't afford what you want. 😉 Congratulations to all you mothers out there 🫂🩷

Didn’t even know what one was until my husband bought me a sapphire ring from Tiffany’s 😱

Yes. A Tiffany’s ring with our son’s birthstone.

My husband handed me 1,000 and told me to “buy myself something that brings me joy” I bought a ring

I've asked for a five guys burger and shake after because we only ever have it as a treat . Plus, it's down the road from the hospital but other than thwt my push present is my baby

My husband got me an eternity ring, it wasn’t crazy expensive only about £30, its the gesture if anything

@quiddo now that is what I’m talking about!!

I don’t think it should be an expectation. Just another thing to get upset about if your SO doesn’t believe in it. It is a little silly, but if my SO did it spontaneously, I’d think it was very considerate and sweet.

I didn't got one for my first but I wanted one, not sure he will remember to give me one this time neither, he is bad at gifts anyway lol...I bought myself new earings , so that will be it I guess lol

An afterbirth recovery kit and a new laptop

I got the kitchen aid mixer and the barista coffee machine I’d been wanting for ages. He was being sly though because he knew I’d bake more and make fancy coffees 🤣

My husband isn't a gift giver so honestly I wasn't expecting one, he did organize my family to pick up food from my favorite Chinese place though and brought me a dr pepper. That was amazing

I just asked for a cup of tea and a bag of Percy pigs from the M&S in the hospital lobby 😂 don’t really see the point in them tbh

My push present was a healthy baby and me having a good delivery. I do not understand push presents

A dyson hair wrap 😂

Everyone saying they don’t get push presents, I get presents just because and I’m sorry yall don’t

Honestly this depends on everyone’s circumstances I’m just worrying about being able to afford all the things for the baby never mind an expensive gift for me, if ur able to get one brilliant bit everyone’s circumstances are different

And by “get” I don’t mean receive I mean understand. I understand financially not being able to, but to not understand why someone would get one doesn’t make sense

I didn’t know wtf that was until after I pushed at my baby’s 1 month check up on the way home. I was like my partner was at my side holding my leg up for me cheering me on, telling me I did a good job the entire time. Why would I make the moment materialistic when he stood with me while I gave life? My boyfriend is not a social media person his social media is discord and the YouTube comments. He doesn’t know wtf a push present is I feel like that’s fairly new. I love him and I know he loves me and we had this baby together out of love I wouldn’t impose this random trend onto him he probably doesn’t know about 😭

I think it’s just another trend we are all suppose to follow we don’t need reasons to spoil ourselves or our partners it just more unnecessary pressure on top of everything else we have to worry about. Do it or don’t it, just do u, but definitely not a necessity

I opted for a silly/affordable push present with my first full term pregnancy and got a T-shirt that says “soup slut” because I looooove soup lol. With my next one I want a hat that says “don’t fucking touch my baby” because I had to say that a LOT

@Katherine omg I need a hat like this! I'm so tired of everyone trying to touch my daughter, especially during flu/rsv season

I just got a Pandora charm with Mum on it from my fiancé x

Tbh I didn’t care about a push present but I got one probably to shut me up though bc he never helped when she was born
