Birth Control Options

Hi Ladies! I am considering the birth control implant on the arm. Has anyone tried that before and how was the procedure? Which brand is the best? I have heard stories that they have to take the implant out because of some allergic reaction and that scares me…

Maybe try the non hormonal one first. Everyone is different but I had reactions to different hormonal birth control

I had the Nexplanon arm implant and I bled EVERY DAY for 4 months. My OB just said to keep waiting and it would taper off but I couldn’t do it anymore. Didn’t have any sex and was miserable.

I didn’t have any horror stories with my nexplanon. I loved it and had it for over 2 years. Every person is different and their bodies are different. I feel like you never know what’s going to happen until you do it. Do your research and talk to your OB or doctor.

@V i’ve heard a lot of stories like this ☝️

@V Oouu girl I had this!!! But I tried to keep mines in & kept saying it’ll end up stopping .. I bled for 9 months straight! And it was heavy bleed! I was buying pads and tampons every other week .

@Miracle OMG glad I decided to opt out when I did.. I can’t imagine 5 more months of that 😳

@V girl no fr . I was so sick and miserable . My ex kept thinking I was lying about bleeding 🤣 like okay hold on let me show you!

I used Nexplanon for 9 years (switching to a new one every 3 years) . I only got a period for a couple of weeks each time I changed the implant, so 3 times in 9 years and didn’t went through any hormonal issues. Doesn’t hurt, i liked it. Now, I don’t need it anymore.

I had nexplanon and it worked but it caused optic nerve swelling I had to have it removed

There’s women saying they got a brain tumor from Nexplanon, personally I hated it. Didn’t bleed for 3 years and when I did it was BLACK AND GROSS for a whole month. TMI but I just hated it.

If you're considering an IUD, id suggest Kyleena. Or skyla ( low dose IUD).... Or as long as you're not allergic to copper, paragard
