That’s crazy! It is Doxylamine and vitamin b6 as Hattie said, and it is over the counter in Australia and widely used jn the HG community. I’m shocked at how hard I’ve been hearing it is to get in the UK
I recently got prescribed this by my GP ( Scotland) but he told me that the nice guidelines have changed and it's actually one of their first drugs to prescribe. https://cks.nice.org.uk/topics/nausea-vomiting-in-pregnancy/management/management/#:~:text=Prescribe%20oral%20cyclizine%20or%20promethazine,woman%20after%2024%2D72%20hours. I've popped the link there hopefully it works for you. it's was updated in Feb this year so they should be following it. I would remake an appt with your GP and get them to look. saying that it was bugger to find a chemist who would order it. but I would call it a miracle drug for sure. it's given me my life back.
This isn’t correct. Xonvea is a licensed drug for pregnancy sickness (I think it might be the only on-label one). GPs can prescribe it. There’s a chance that the GP is not fully aware of it as it’s still a relatively new medicine.
My GP prescribes me Xonvea and I'm in UK! My pharmacy has no problem ordering it in for me
I asked my gp for xonvea and they couldn’t perscribe it me. Told me that there isn’t even an option to order it on their computer. The only way I’d be able to get it is if I am admitted. I am struggling with HG but no where near as bad as my first so I’ve not needed hospital admission as of yet. Only 8w +3d now but can feel it getting worse x
Can you find a new GP?
Doxylamine/pyridoxine (Xonvea) i got prescribed xonvea by a dr in the UK straight away, but I found that lots of various people in the health care system had never heard of it. I hope you are able to get some or something else that works!
